My research concentrates on network security and software security, with a special interest in the footprint and resilience of distributed systems that apply consensus algorithms (such as cryptocurrencies). I have been studying the electricity consumption of cryptocurrency mining and am currently extending this towards estimating the environmental footprint in terms of GHG emissions and e-waste, and how this footprint can be reduced.
