Julie Schor

Professor of Sociology, Boston College

I am an economist and sociologist, interested in the climate impacts of the "sharing" and gig economies. With colleagues, I've been focusing on Airbnb, but am also interested in labor services such as ride-hail and delivery. Working hours and their impacts on carbon emissions are another longstanding research area. I'm currently studying four day workweek trials around the world. Intersections of time-use and the digital economy are of particular interest to me.
