My/Our research is about sustainable ICT, at the intersection of distributed systems, circular economy, and smart communities. I was the scientific coordinator of the European Doctorate in Distributed Computing (Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate 2011- 2021, with 4 European universities and 10 industrial labs. I was co-chair of the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF/IETF) group on Global Access to the Internet for All, and a member of the Internet research steering group. I am co-rapporteur of the United Nations ITU-T Q7/SG5 on "E-waste, circular economy and sustainable supply chain management".
