Jan Bieser is an assistant professor for digitalization and sustainability. In his research, he investigates the opportunities and risks of digitalization for society and the environment. Before, Jan Bieser researched and taught at the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute, the University of Zurich, the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and for the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Cities of Tomorrow. He led various research collaborations in cooperation with industrial companies, trade associations, and NGOs, and co-organized several digitalization and sustainability conferences. Before, he worked as an IT and sustainability manager/consultant at the University of Zurich, IBM and Deutsche Telekom.
